Every November we get the same question: "Can I really get my windows tinted in the winter, or should I wait until spring?" The short answer — yes, you absolutely can, and we install year-round.
How Cold-Weather Installs Work
Tint film is applied with a water-based solution and cured to bond with the glass. Outdoor temperature doesn't matter — what matters is the temperature inside the install bay. Our shop is fully heated and climate-controlled, so the film goes on at ideal conditions every time of year.
What's Different About Winter Curing?
Curing time (the period when the film fully bonds and any remaining moisture evaporates) takes longer in winter than summer because you're not getting much sun to help things along. We'll walk you through exactly how long to wait before rolling your windows down — typically a bit longer in winter than summer.
Why Winter Is a Great Time to Book
- Shorter wait times than spring and summer
- Your tint is ready to go for the first sunny days of spring
- UV damages your interior year-round, even in winter
- Snow glare is brutal — tint helps cut it dramatically
Pro Tip for Rochester Drivers
If you're planning a road trip somewhere sunny this winter — Florida, the Carolinas, anywhere south — getting tint done before you leave makes a massive difference. You'll feel it the moment you cross into warmer territory.
