If this is your first professional tint install, the process can feel like a black box. Here's a transparent breakdown of how a typical appointment runs at Upstate Tint Pros — from drop-off to driving away.
1. Consultation and Film Selection
When you arrive (or when we first chat by phone), we'll talk through your goals: heat rejection, look, privacy, longevity, and budget. We'll show you Solar Gard film samples on actual glass so you can see exactly how each option performs and looks.
2. Vehicle Inspection
Before we touch your glass, we inspect every window for existing chips, scratches, or defects and document them with you. This protects both of us.
3. Glass Cleaning and Prep
This step is everything. Dust, fibers, or smudges trapped under film show up forever. Our techs deep-clean every window with multiple passes — it's the unglamorous work that separates a great install from a bad one.
4. Cutting and Shaping
We use computer-cut patterns customized to your specific vehicle. No blade ever touches your paint, weatherstripping, or interior trim — a critical detail amateur installers often skip.
5. Installation
Film is applied to the inside of each window with a precision squeegee technique that removes water and air. A typical sedan takes 2–3 hours; SUVs and full PPF jobs take longer.
6. Quality Check
We inspect every window edge and surface under bright light before handing the keys back. If anything isn't right, we redo it.
7. Aftercare Instructions
We'll give you clear, simple aftercare guidance — including how long to wait before rolling windows down, when to wash, and what cleaning products are safe. Follow these and your tint will look brand-new for years.
Lifetime Warranty
Every install is backed by Solar Gard's lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, and fading. If anything ever goes wrong, you're covered.
